Angie and I are RVing fulltime in our 2006 Monaco Knight 40PLQ. I work full time as a web programmer, and Ang works full time taking care of me :-). Thanks for reading our stuff.
"Little RVs, on the asphalt, little campground made of ticky tacky" Well, you know the song ![]()
We are back at Sparks Marina RV Park, and it is just as fake as it was last time. It is funny to drive in and see perfect green grass - no weeds, perfectly uniform growth, perfect shape. The dream of nice cool perfect grass between your toes is smashed as soon as you notice that it is fake grass. Fake. Astro turf. SoCal yard carpet. Perfect green plastic strands.
Sure, it looks nice, but it is so fake. It is so fake that they have the most strict dog policy I have ever seen. The rules state something about if your dog is seen peeing somewhere not authorized, they can charge your credit card $25. My response - I left them a fake credit card to go with their fake grass ![]()
OK, not really, but it would have been brilliant.
We will stay somewhere else next time we are in the area. We like places that aren't so uptight. We like places that keep their pool/spa open past nine at night. We don't mind imperfect grass, as we are mostly imperfect ourselves. We like for the places we stay to be as laid back as we are.
It is nice being here with Angie's family though. They are great, and have always made me feel part of the group. We went to a Farmer's Market this afternoon that was real cool. It was at Victorian Square, and is a Thursday night occurrence. However, the "Farmer's Market" name is a little deceiving - it is more like Thursday Night Party Where They Sell Some Fruits and Veggies. It was a blast. Lots of booths set up with the normal street fair fare (is that legal??). Live music. We had margaritas at an outside table at a nice Mexican restaurant, so we had the perfect view to watch the "farmers" walk by. Good times.
Getting ready to hit the road to Colorado this weekend. I am not overly thrilled that we will be driving across Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming with our front A/C unit on the blink. Might get a bit warm. I will blast the dash A/C, so I am sure my co-pilot and the wonder pooch will be close by.
