Angie and I are RVing fulltime in our 2006 Monaco Knight 40PLQ. I work full time as a web programmer, and Ang works full time taking care of me :-). Thanks for reading our stuff.
Well, celebrity to me, at least.
We easily made the one hour drive yesterday from Harrisburg to Salem. Nice and easy drive up I-5, except for the missing-the-exit part. No good excuse for that - it happens. We got parked quickly in the "Electrical" section of the fairgrounds, so we have 30 amp service for the week. We were guided in between two beautiful Monaco Executive coaches.
Oh yea - the celebrity sighting. If you haven't figured it out from the picture above (and no - not Ang or Malabar), click More to find out...
Anybody that has spent more than ten minutes on the web looking for information on satellite internet has come across the postings of Bill Adams of InternetAnywhere. What makes him a celeb to me? The simple fact that Bill spends such an incredible amount of time on Datastormusers.com and IRV2.com leading the curious, the lost, and the technically challenged down the straight path to satellite internet. There is never a commercial, or outright spam when he schools us on satellite stuff. It is always just good, straight information.
For direct information without ever a sales pitch, Bill Adams is a celebrity to me. I hope to meet him this week, but I am sure it will be tough to get a word in edge-wise. I am sure he is permanently surrounded when he is at events like this - new customers, current customers, the satellite-curious crowd. Like I said - the man is a celebrity
Thanks for all you do, Bill. You are an asset to the community, as well as a shining example of a great businessman.
So, other than my 15 minutes of being star-struck, not a whole lot else went on yesterday. Tuesday is the official start of the rally. They allow "early parking" on Sunday, then the rest of the folks pull in today. There is a happy hour and a hot dog feast this evening to get things rolling, but the seminars and such start tomorrow.
The above pics are from Sunday - we attended a customer appreciation dinner hosted by Paul Everts RV, the place we bought the Knight. We went with our new friends John and Goldie, who are our neighbors at the rally. The first picture was an attempt to get a picture of everyone that attended the dinner. I thought it was funny that it looked like everyone was gathering around to take a picture of the girl on the ladder
We had a great time, and since it was the only night that dinner was not included in the price of the rally, the timing was awesome.
