Angie and I are RVing fulltime in our 2006 Monaco Knight 40PLQ. I work full time as a web programmer, and Ang works full time taking care of me :-). Thanks for reading our stuff.
Halloween is that special day that you get to dress up as whatever your fantasies desire. There are endless options as to what you can be, limited only by one's imagination. Is it odd when two people dress up as what they are normally? Yea, odd.
Ang and I went to the Sun N Fun Halloween party on Wednesday night as the Beauty and the Geek. Was not a real stretch for us, character wise, but when you live in a 400 square foot home on wheels, a bin of costumes is not a real high priority. So, we were forced to simply stretch reality some. It worked for us.
The party was pretty fun. We arrived fashionably late (as normal), and the party was rockin when we got there. They had a DJ playing everything from The King to The King of Interplanetary Funksmanship (George Clinton - Atomic Dog - woof). Our park neighbors were jammin out, and there were some cool costumes. Which, again, brought up that question about who caries costumes in an RV, and why?
We met some cool people at the party. Miles and Arlene are Canadians (eh) that come down to Sun N Fun each year for their vacation. I presume that golf and sunshine is a pretty big draw when you live in the Great White North
They were great to hang out with, and we all ended up back at our pad for a bit at the end of the evening. Ironically, Miles is in the automotive business (sorry, couldn't resist) and was interesting to visit with. We are hoping that we will be able to hook up with them again before they head back home.
Sun N Fun has lived up to their name so far, and we have been enjoying our stay. We have gone over to the pool side bar and grill a few times for lunch, and have sampled their pool fare once or twice. The park has a real nice, Florida feel to it, and is pretty close to the Gulf coast. We made a trip out to Longboat Key the other day for lunch, and plan on going to Siesta Key tomorrow for some beach time.
Our site is pretty close to all of the action, so it is a quick walk to everything. We hope to use some more of the facilities soon, as they have plenty to offer. Most of my week has been pretty focused on work, however, but will try to manage my free time a bit better so we can become shuffleboard champs!!
I am going through withdrawals because I am not able to wash our coach in this park. I hate that rule. I don't use gross amounts of water when I wash, and my coach is a dirty little pig. Maybe I spend too much time looking at it, but it bums me out to see her so dirty. Just noticed today that a big 5th wheel pulled in across the way from us that is advertising a "waterless car wash" product. Maybe I will stroll over tomorrow to see what their deal is.
