Revcon To Do List

Posting here is much like doing Radio at Burning Man…Is anyone listening?

Last weekend I went to "The Stalag" to access the needs of the Revcon. For those of you who don't know what "The Stalag" is, it is our Motor Coach and project home base. Its actual name is “Milpitas RV Storage”. About 5 years ago; Skid and I infiltrated the upper echelon of this facility. At one point he and I were actually staying there part time. We were neighbors with hacked Direct TV and high-speed Internet… good times! I named it “The Stalag” based on it looking very much like a WWII prison camp...

[More:]

One day, very soon after moving our stuff in there, we went to Burning Man. Upon returning we were storing all of this incredibly dusty, dirty stuff and caught the eye of one of the owners. Once we explained what we were doing, he was hooked, he became a “Burner” and we had free rein to build stuff and conduct diabolical experimentation. http://www.k-svert.com/stalag.html

Back to the Revcon or as my son has named it, “Kong”. It’s clear to me that the windshield and carpeting are now at the top of my list. Windshield trim is in bad shape. The previous owner attempted to seal it and really did a bad job. I have been in touch with a service center in San Diego. He specializes in Revcons and he let know that anything I do with the windshield, I will have to fabricate my own trim. Oh Joy!

I think medium gray carpeting will lighten the look of the coach. My plan is to obtain some local labor and pull up the carpet in whole pieces. I will use those pieces as templates for the new carpet. All I need is a clear weekend (yea right) and some carpet.

If I don’t get a break in the weather, I will tackle the 12 volt electrical system. Not looking forward to it. Short? Bad converter?, wiring and converter are also in tough spots.
