I saw my RV on Friday morning. The radiator work has been completed and it's ready to drive home. The final total for the work ended up being $2045. Much more than the original $1000-$1600 that was first quoted. The radiator could not be cored due to completely clogged passages and therefore had to be rebuilt from scratch. A custom job that was not cheap. The new hi-perf water pump is gleaming in its new home just behind the brand new fan clutch. New belts and hoses are all new as well The dash air conditioning pump has had the belt removed and the AC heat exchanger that blocked the radiator has been removed. I have a set of high temp valve cover gaskets just waiting to be installed once I get her back home.

There's the rub though.

My original plan was to bring the Turnip on her maiden voyage this coming weekend to Coloma Resort and river rafting. Unfortunately the funds are not available to pick her up.

The folks at Leales at first said that I could take my time and that they would store the Turnip for as long as I needed. But now the owner has made a comment about possible storage cost, etc.

Now it looks like I'm gonna need to figure out how to come up with $2K pretty quick. I have been trying to come up with something all weekend and I am finally at loss. I cut up all my credit cards a year ago and have been on a cash basis since.

My only alternative now seems to be finding someone to loan me $2000 that would let me make (big) payments over the next couple of months.

Anybody know a loan shark?
