Lesson learned...

I brought the Brave to Ideal RV to plumb up my spanking new holding tanks since the hourly rate is $80 vs. Leales $115.

Well they just took 1.5 times as long to do the job and charged me outrageous prices for 3 inch PVC fittings!

[More:]

After all was said and done. I was invoiced nearly $1000 for the job I was quoted for 2 hours plus parts. (~$600)
I complained about the cost getting out of hand without a phone call and offered them $700. They took it. Never again. Leales may be expensive, but they have not treated me like that.

The support they installed for the valves was cheap flexible strapping tape used for under house plumbing.

I got a piece of cold rolled steel at OSH and fashioned a nice sturdy bracket. It took me about 20 minutes to make a bracket that Ideal should have been able to fabricate.

In any case, other than these things, I am happy with the job. I picked up a nice RV toilet at the "World". A tall, white ceramic, anti-microbial seat model. After installing it I was excited to test the plumbing for leaks, etc. Too bad the water was shut off at the stalag that day.

The wood panels and freezer door for my new fridge came in finally. I picked the door up on the same day as the toilet. I have decided to keep the door in the box and use the damaged one. When and if the corner that I glued comes off, I'll replace it with the new door.

The last big job I have is the fuel gauge. I picked up a hydralic lift table that is perfect for dropping the gas tank without draining it. I'll drop the tank and pull the sender to test it. Hopefully I find a broken wire or something simple but I'm not holding my breath.

I have info on trouble-shooting the sender so once I get access I'll be able to see if the sender is sending. If it isn't, it's time for a new one. If it works (fingers crossed) then there is likely a short under the dash. A hassle to find, but definately a cheaper fix than a new sender. I'll take the oppurtunity to replace the fuel line from the tank all the way to the carb. it's looking tired.

Once I can monitor the fuel in my tank I am ready to go RV'ing.

There is a redneck burner weekend up north in a couple of weeks that I'm looking forward to. Slackers, Guns, and Fire, oh my!

Pics comig soon of the Brave in all its glory.
